Hindustan Unilever is a subsidiary of Unilever. It was found in 1933 headquartered in Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. HUL is one of the leading brands with more than 20 consumer category products like soap, detergents, and shampoos.
Some of its homecare brands include Rin detergent, comfortable fabric, Surf excel detergent, and Vim dish wash bar. Pepsodent toothpaste, Lux soap, pears soap, and body wash, and Ayurvedic brands like Indulekha hair oil and LEVER Ayush.
Nestle was found in 1866 and headquartered in Vevey, Vaud, Switzerland. Nestle’s product line includes products like baby food, medical food, bottled water, coffee and tea, dairy products, ice cream, pet food, and frozen food. Nestle has a big brand name in the Indian market, and it’s brand Maggie has a huge positive image in the market.
The controversy of maggie leads to the development of stains on the brand. But Nestle employed excellent Crisis communication to deal with the dispute won the case and got a clean chit. It even had successful rebuilding of the brand hence resulting in increased revenue covering the cost incurred in crisis management and additional profit with added on trust on the brand.

Britannia also has dairy products offered in the market, which form 10% part of Britannia’s revenue. Britannia is also listed in the Brand Trust Report which records India’s 100 most trusted brands.
Though these brands are leading the Indian market the FMCG having high potentials is seeing new forms of selling the products to the customer. These current top FMCG products dominate the market, but they need an intermediary to reach their products to the ultimate consumers.
Direct selling companies have come up with a business plan selling their products directly to the consumers without any intermediaries. Products are disturbed directly to the customers through their distribution centers. Their products are not available on e-commerce platforms instead of directly distributed through their distribution houses.
