Early Life and Background
Bhumi is raised in an Indian Family. Her late father, Satish, was a Maharashtrian, and her mother, Sumitra, is a Haryanvi.
She has a twin sister, Samiksha, who is a lawyer by profession.
Schooling Life
Bhumi completed her schooling from Arya Vidya Mandir School, Mumbai. She first enrolled in Communication and Media Arts, Mumbai, but got expelled due to low attendance.
Later, she graduated from the University of Mumbai as a bachelor in commerce.
She also attended Whistling Woods International College of Films to learn acting.
She wanted to be an actor for 12 years old. At 18 years of age, she applied for a vacant post in Yash Raj Films but got rejected. After a month, she was called to work as an assistant casting director.

Career
Her first movie was Dum Laga Ke Haishaa in 2015. She gained 12 kg for her role as an overweight bride in this movie. In the same year, she featured in a web series, Man’s World.
After a year, she starred in Toilet: Ek Prem Katha in 2017 alongside Akshay Kumar, which was a commercial success. Apart from the Bollywood industry, she was also seen in Netflix‘s Lust Stories.
Sonchiriya, a crime drama, was her first movie in 2019. Then she shared the screen with Taapsee Pannu in Saand ki Aankh, but both the film were unsuccessful at the box office.
Later, she played the role of a small town educated woman in Bala, a movie based on a man dealing with baldness. Her last film of the year 2019 was Pati Patni Aur Woh in which she portrayed as a housewife whose husband develops an attraction for his new female secretary.

- She has seen Kamaal Rashid Khan’s Deshdrohi more than 100 times.
- Bhumi didn’t know that she was being auditioned for the role of Sandhya Verma in Dum Laga Ke haishaa. She thought that she was just giving a demo to the other actors. Later, she went on to provide 100 more auditions to bag the role.
- In an interview, she revealed that Ayushman Khurana himself picked her up during the last scenes of the movie, Dum Laga Ke Haishaa. Although a body double was called he couldn’t pick her up.
- Bhumi is all about makeup. She revealed in an interview that she is a makeup hoarder.
